With advancements in technology in leaps every single day, how will the future home operate? How do I incorporate electric upgrades to my home to keep up with the future needs of my home?

EV  Chargers:

The world automotive industry is experiencing a tremendous transformation.

Electric cars have moved from being an alternative or option to a mainstream car choice.

The adoption of electric cars continues to gain momentum, driven by an advancement in technology, rising energy costs, a focus on environmental concerns by consumers and government policies.

EV Chargers have changed in leaps in the last few years. Let’s explore a few features that have revolutionised this industry and enhanced our lives.

1)    Connectivity:

Another hallmark of smart EV charger is their advanced connectivity. By integrating with smart grids and other devices, these chargers communicate with external systems, facilitating efficient load balancing. This ability to communicate and coordinate with the power grid is a game-changer in ensuring grid stability, especially during peak charging period.

2)   Real Time data monitoring:

Imagine knowing exactly how much energy your car is consuming & how long your charge lasts for? Moreover, how much this is costing you.

EV owners by providing real-time data on charging sessions, energy consumption, and charging costs, thereby granting them complete control over their charging process.

Smart chargers, through analysis of charging duration, battery status, and charging behaviour, can schedule charging to ensure vehicles are charged at the most optimal times for both the user and the grid.

3)    Artificial intelligence

AI is a ground breaking innovation integrated into smart EV chargers. Some smart chargers use AI to:

  • Predict user behaviour

  • Improve user experience by personalizing charging experiences to meet the specific needs and habits of individual users

  • Optimize charging schedules, contributing to grid stability

By analysing historical charging data, chargers can

  • Predict and learn user charging patterns and preferences

  • Better manage charging infrastructure, even when multiple chargers are in use simultaneously

  • Monitor factors such as operating temperature to ensure optimal and safe functioning of chargers

The future of a Smart home will see a greater integration of artificial intelligence, contactless technology, and advanced device interconnectivity, further revolutionizing how we live and interact with our home environment.

Some of 2025’s Smart Home Devices include:

1.    Smart Speakers: Like Amazon echo & google nest audio which feature Voice-activated assistants, high-quality audio, and multi-device integration.
